A man was stabbed twice in his chest on Thursday morning as he got into his car after scraping snow from the windscreen.

The 36-year-old Asian man walked to his car in Shakespeare Road, Acton, just after 7am and noticed a man near him as he was getting into his car.

He was punched and kicked to the floor before another man appeared and jumped on him, also kicking and punching the victim.

After fighting back, he was stabbed twice by a small knife where he sustained puncture wounds to the left chest area.

The two men, described as black, aged 23-25, wearing dark clothes and scarves covering their faces, are believed to have made off with the victim's car keys.

Police and ambulance crews arrived at 7:05am and treated the man at the scene before he was taken to a Central London hospital as a priority.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening but police are treating the incident as GBH and robbery.

The police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should call the critical and violent crime unit on 020 8246 1058 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
