East Acton Police praised for helping vulnerable in 'big freeze'

Posted by Paloma Kubiak on Jan 14, 10 03:47 PM in Good Causes

More than 150 elderly and vulnerable people living in East Acton were helped by officers of the Safer Neighbourhood Team.

As ice and snow prevented many from leaving their homes, East Acton SNT used their own funds to buy bread and milk and then delivered the items to those struggling to cope with the severe weather conditions.

Grateful residents thanked officers and Mr Renn of Cloister Road, who received bread and milk, said: "It was most kind of them to help us when we couldn't get out to buy even essentials."

PCSO Leftley said: "It was very fulfilling for the entire team to assist vulnerable local residents of East Acton during a difficult time."

We'd like to hear from you.
