Acton Green bus stand latest

Leader of the Council, Jason Stacey, proved he is no longer Mr nice guy as he voiced his frustration over an on-going transport issue in Acton.

People living in the surrounding areas of Acton Green, where the 94 bus terminates, have catalogued a series of complaints against the all night service, namely the anti-social behaviour of the bus drivers, the noise and pollution from buses coming in and out of the area every 90 seconds and mounting pavements due to the narrow roads lined with cars.

Cllr Stacey told cabinet members: "The service has had an intolerable effect on the lives of residents around there and we have tried very patiently to get this resolved but we have hit a brick wall every time.

"The pollution levels are unacceptable and the London United Busways were fitted with GPS to limit the numbers at Acton Green but it is not working and we are continually rebuffed by Transport for London.

"This is Ealing Council land and I recommend we remove the bus stand and measures to improve the area, such as pedestrianisation, and see if TfL want to come back to make us a better offer."

A TfL spokesman said: "We are aware of Ealing Council's concerns about the bus terminal in Acton Green and we are meeting with them next week to discuss a resolution.

"TfL continues to monitor the situation and will work with the bus operator, London United, to resolve any issues that are identified."

We'd like to hear from you.
