People are being urged to help a charity break a world record in the New Year.

Scope, with a store at 88 High Street, Acton, are asking people to donate old mobile phones during the week of Friday 8 January to Friday 15 to help support their work with disabled people.

Popular children's entertainers, The Wiggles, will be making an exclusive return to an Acton cinema in the New Year.

The Vue Cinema will be running the new fun-filled show, 'Big, Big Show in the Round' on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 January 2010 at 10am.

Campaigners are calling for a three-line whip under the Council's Green Corridor strategy to prevent further pollution to the 'lungs of Acton'.

West Acton Residents' Association (WARA) held a demonstration last Saturday morning along Gypsy Corner, A40, where 13 separate sites are owned by Transport for London after a strip of housing was demolished in 1995 to make way for road improvement works.

Children put on their tutus and danced among paintings displayed on stage as part of an awards evening and charity fund-raiser.

Motorists and customers are being urged to donate new toys and gifts to help disadvantaged children have a happy Christmas.

Renault West London on Concord Avenue, A40, is working with Barnardo Children's Charity to encourage people to donate gifts which will be delivered to them in time for Christmas.

People are invited to Acton Winter Fair on Saturday December 12 for an afternoon of carol singing, Christmas crafts and free face-painting.

There will also be dance performances, market stalls to browse and other family activities to enjoy at the event from 11am-5pm at Acton Market Square in The Mount and St Mary's Church Hall in Churchfield Road, Acton High Street.
