Winter Fun in Acton

Families are invited to attend a free evening of entertainment in Acton next month.

A.P.P.L.E Play are hosting a 'winter gathering' on Saturday December 12 starting at Acton Town Square, outside Morrisons.

A Performing Arts Festival is being held on Friday to celebrate diverse cultures and bring the community together.

Acton Community Forum (ACF) has been working with local events company, Jack Morton Worldwide, and students from Acton High School to produce Spotlight '09. It showcases a mix of 18 local groups and performers including the Stardust Steel Orchestra, Jiving Lindy Hoppers and Theatre Studio West, XLNT Entertainment, Nexos Latino Americanos. Spotlight '09 is at Acton High School, Gunnersbury Lane, Acton on Friday (27) from 6.30-10.30pm. Cost £2 on the night.

After School Club in Acton

Youngsters are invited to attend a free after school club to learn literacy and numeracy skills as well as keep fit.

Small businesses are urged to register for a free event to find out how to make the most of the 2012 Olympic Games.

The London 'Compete For' team will introduce businesses to the range of contract opportunities, around 75,000 and how to register on the dedicated London 2012 procurement portal.

Guests are invited to a performing arts festival to see talented people take to the stage.

Spotlight 2009 will include dance, theatre and music and will give participants a chance to shine and show what they are made of in front of an audience.

Give Blood in Acton

Kind-hearted people are asked to give blood this week during a visit by the National Blood Service.

There will be an opportunity to give blood at Ealing Town Hall in the Elizabeth Cantel Room, New Broadway, Ealing on Tuesday November 17 at 1:45-4:15 and 5-7:15pm.

An Acton-based Chief Operating Officer of a Pakistani television network has won a prestigious award.

Fayaz Ghafoor of AYR Digital was nominated for the Professional Jewel Award which honours the achievements of people in the Asian Community.

More than 60 people attended a three-fold celebration as part of a family learning festival.

The Centre for Armenian Information and Advice (CAIA) launched their Generations Together project, marked 'get online day 2009' and promoted a learning revolution day.

Staff at a car dealership were tickled pink after raising more than £250 for a charity.

The Renault London West staff in Concord Road, Western Avenue, Acton, wore pink for the day and made a donation to the charity, Breast Cancer Awareness.

Acton Church Christmas Fair

A church will be holding a Christmas Fayre at the beginning of December to raise funds for the centre.

The Acton Hill Methodist and United Reform Church, on the corner of High Street and Woodlands Avenue, will be holding the fayre on Saturday December 5 from 11am-2pm.
