A pensioner was found with injuries to his face after an intruder broke into his house in St Anne's Gardens in Park Royal last week.

A member of the public called the police after hearing loud noises and seeing signs of forced entry to the home at 11:35pm on Wednesday September 30.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Dog Unit and Ealing Borough command arrived and found the 78-year-old owner.

The elderly man was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service before being taken to Central Middlesex Hospital.

Police are now appealing for witnesses following the incident and the suspect is a black man.
