Acton Youth Dispersal

Posted by Paloma Kubiak on Jul 3, 09 10:56 AM in Crime

Teenagers in the Acton area will be sent home after dark following complaints of gang intimidation and harassment.

Youngsters under 16 found roaming the streets around Savoy Circus and Old Oak Common Lane between 9pm and 6am could be sent home or to a place of safety if they are not accompanied by an adult over 18-years of age.

The dispersal of groups order will take effect from now until 23:59pm December 25 to tackle anti-social behaviour caused by youths.

Uniformed constables and police community support officers (PCSOs) will have the power to tell people in the group to leave the area, tell those who do not live in the area to leave or order them not to return to the area for a specified time.

To remain or return to the area could lead to up to three months in prison and/or a fine of up to £2,500.

A notice of the dispersal order will be displayed in the affected area and for more information, contact Ealing Police Station on 020 8246 1212.
