Boy knocked down in Acton
A YOUNG boy was knocked down as he crossed the road in Acton this afternoon.
The boy, believed to be around five years old was struck down by a female driver in Horn Lane, just after 3:30pm.
Staff from Springfield Dental Surgery in Summerlands Avenue rushed out and administered first aid to the shocked, but conscious boy.
Trisha Eales, who works at the surgery said the staff had just had a first-aid refresher course last week and were confident helping the boy.
She said:: "I saw it out of the corner of my eye and just knew it was going to happen.
"Me and my colleague Diana Walker rushed out but didn't have to do much; just made sure he didn't move incase he had broken any bones.
"He had a couple of grazes on his left arm and we waited with him and his mother for the ambulance to arrive."
A London Ambulance Spokesman said: "We were called at 3:35pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Horn Lane, involving a car and a pedestrian.
"We sent one single responder in a car and one ambulance crew to the scene.
"A young boy was taken to Central Middlesex Hospital with a leg injury."
