Easter message attracts record crowds

Posted by Graham Spence on Apr 17, 09 03:39 PM in

RECORD numbers of Christians marked the Easter holidays with a procession this weekend.

About 360 worshippers carrying crosses and placards marched from Acton Park, along Acton High Street to Acton Hill Church.

The multi-denominational group also picked up the congregation from Our Lady of

Lourdes along the way on Good Friday.

The idea was to bring the Christian message to the people and the group were aided by a 20ft tall cross so everyone could see hem coming.

The procession, which covers half a mile, is in its 33rd year and was finished with a special service at Acton Hill Church.

We'd like to hear from you.
