Phone call in Acton

Posted by Dan Hodges on Jan 22, 09 04:04 PM in Good Causes

PEOPLE with old mobile phones are encouraged to donate them to an Acton charity which fights for the rights of disabled people.

Scope in Acton High Street is raising cash by collecting unwanted phones in a project run with recycling group Redeem. The charity is given £3 for every phone handed in.

Area manager Sarah Walker said: "Handing in unwanted mobile phones is a small and simple thing for people to do, but it can make a world of a difference to our work to support disabled people."

Anyone with an old phone can drop in to the shop or call Scope on 0207 619 7234 for a freepost envelope to send it in. Alternatively visit www.bringaphone.com
