More cops for Acton Mainline
A team of eight extra police officers will be drafted in to patrol Acton Mainline train station over the next two years.
The transport police unit will be paid for by the Mayor of London as part of a crackdown on low level crime and disorder at outer London stations.
They will carry out high visibility police work to provide community reassurance and work with existing transport safety teams.
Mayor Boris Johnson said: "During the election campaign I made a pledge that I would make London's suburban stations safer, because everyone has the right to travel safely
and free from the fear of crime, no matter what part of London they live
in.
"This is why we are funding an extra 50 British Transport Police
Officers to patrol the National railway network in outer London - bringing
an increased sense of security to the many thousands of Londoners who rely
on the suburban rail network."
