Acton swimmers to take the plunge

Posted by Dan Hodges on Jan 22, 09 04:04 PM in

A SWIMATHON is being organised at Acton to support terminally ill cancer victims and their families.

Dozens of willing swimmers are needed for this year's event, which will run from April 16 to 19.

The big splash is part of a national swimathon which will see thousands of people taking part in 500 pools across the country.

More than £2 million has been raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care over the last two years and organisers are hoping to match the success again this year.

Anyone can take part and there is a choice of distances - 1.5km, 2km or the ultimate 5km challenge, which can be completed by a team of up to five people.
