A SWIMATHON is being organised at Acton to support terminally ill cancer victims and their families.
Dozens of willing swimmers are needed for this year's event, which will run from April 16 to 19.
PEOPLE with old mobile phones are encouraged to donate them to an Acton charity which fights for the rights of disabled people.
Scope in Acton High Street is raising cash by collecting unwanted phones in a project run with recycling group Redeem. The charity is given £3 for every phone handed in.
A team of eight extra police officers will be drafted in to patrol Acton Mainline train station over the next two years.

The meeting will be held at Acton High School at 7pm on Tuesday, January 6.
